The problem with the word Pagan is that it doesn’t have an apparent, useful, or descriptive meaning. It is an umbrella term popularized by Christians to describe non-Christians. It carries a connotation of rural folk practices as opposed to the universal and urban orientation of early Christianity. Pagan comes from the Latin word for a villager.
We reject the use of the pejorative term Pagan and do not identify with it. The term we use for European ethnic and ancestral religions is Gentile Religion rather than Pagan.
